Welcome to take part in a survey on travel habits in Helsinki. The purpose of the survey is to find out how journeys made within the city of Helsinki are divided between different modes of transport. The survey provides an understanding of how people in Helsinki travel on foot, by bicycle, by public transport, by car and by other means of transport. The survey is carried out on behalf of the City of Helsinki and is conducted by Taloustutkimus Oy.

Why were you selected?

We received your details from the Population Information System maintained by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Respondents were selected at random from the register.

Who can take part in this survey?

Anyone who has received this invitation can answer the survey. Answering takes about 10 minutes. Taking part is entirely voluntary, and you can stop at any time if you wish.

How can I answer the survey?

You can answer the survey in Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, Somali or Arabic on a computer or a mobile device. For people with visual impairments, a mobile device is the easiest option.

Why is the survey being carried out and how will the results be used?

The survey provides an understanding of how people in Helsinki travel on foot, by bicycle, by public transport, by car or by other means of transport. In addition to the mode of transport, the survey looks at the number of journeys and their purpose. The City of Helsinki uses the results to develop its transport systems.

The survey has been commissioned by the Urban Environment Division of the City of Helsinki. Data collection and reporting of the results are carried out by Taloustutkimus Oy.
